Eldepryl
Eldepryl is used for treating Parkinson disease in patients who are taking levodopa/carbidopa.
Use Eldepryl as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Take Eldepryl by mouth with food.
Do NOT take more than the recommended dose without checking with your doctor.
Continue to take Eldepryl even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
If you miss a dose of Eldepryl , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Eldepryl is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). It works by prolonging the anti-Parkinson activity of levodopa, which may help to slow the progression of Parkinson disease. Eldepryl has no anti-Parkinson effects of its own and must always be given in combination with levodopa/carbidopa.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light.
